Ms. Hudson receives Leading with the Heart Award
River Dell Elementary would like to congratulate first grade teacher Jenny Hudson for receiving the Leading with a Heart award for RDE.
Hudson is more than deserving of this award. She is known for her ability to build rapport with her students.
“We are so grateful to have Jenny Hudson as a teacher,” RDE Principal Janet Lebo said “She is always willing to do whatever it takes for her students to feel comfortable in the classroom and succeed.”
“Her classroom always has such a fun and relaxed atmosphere that is conducive to learning,” said Sharon Dailey, her teacher assistant from last year. “Her kids are having fun while learning.”
Hudson once had a student who was afraid of thunderstorms so to make the child feel safe, Hudson would take her onto her lap and reassure her that she was alright. Another example of Hudson’s care for her students was when one of her student’s family was going through a rough time. During that time, Hudson offered flexibility, support, love and understanding to the student, as well as connecting the student with other services that could help.
“Ms. Hudson is a teacher who leads with her heart changing our school one person at a time,” Lebo said.
Hudson serves as RDE’s mentor coordinator. In that role she shares her resources and supports the beginning teachers each month with ideas and collaboration. As a mentor, Hudson has been supportive and helpful, going above and beyond what is expected.
As a school, RDE is thrilled to have Hudson as a teacher and want to congratulate her and thank her for her kind heart.
